Pewter Beads

Pewter has been used for centuries. The earliest
work of pewter was found in an Egyptian tomb dating back to about 1450 B.C. It
is believed that it was widely used by Egyptian and Roman civilizations. Pewter
was also used throughout Europe during the Middle Ages. Today, it is a popular
metal found not only in jewelry making components, but also in statues and
figurines as well as coins and collectibles.
Pewter is a malleable metal, which means that it is able to bend easily
and can be shaped as desired but is strong enough to resist breakage. Pewter is
an alloy, mostly consisting of tin with traces of copper and even silver
sometimes present.
All of our pewter beads are lead safe and nickel
free.
